Camisoles Versus Liberty Bodice

Camisoles Versus Liberty Bodice

Hi my sexy gang of male testosterone pots, I write this blog because a client who visited us at Club Classique wanted a lady to wear a Liberty Bodice (eek what!!) as we could not find a liberty bodice we settled for a camisole top and our client settled for that too.

This is all I know about Liberty bodices. When I was seven I went on my own to stay with my grandmother. In the mornings I would watch with fascination as she arose from her bed resembling some creature from a blasted heath and gradually transformed herself into an elegant, well groomed lady. She wore an array of bewildering undergarments, one of which she called her “Liberty Bodice”, and it made me snigger because it was a thick, fleecy, shapeless garment with cloth straps and lots of little rubber buttons with which you fastened on other types of underwear like stockings and knickers. At the time this unappealing and restrictive garment seemed to me the absolute opposite of everything that the word Liberty implied.

The word camisole started being used in England as early as 1810-20. Originally it referred to a small jacket, translating from French as vest. In medical journals the term “camisole de force” meant a strait-jacket for restraining the insane, or those condemned to death. What contemporaries of the 1850s referred to as a camisole was more of a decorated tube top with ribbon shoulder straps; like an early bra-like garment. When examining museum pieces, camisoles will not have buttons, because they were designed to be worn under a corset or stays, while corset covers will usually have buttons.

Camisole a little tight stretchy Strappy top for girls and women. Used to be underwear but now seen worn by girls/women of all ages, classes, fashion sensibilities.

  1. You look hot in that Camisole
  2. Jeez your Camisole is making me hard!

In modern usage a camisole or cami is a loose-fitting sleeveless woman's undergarment (not in my mind very sexy) which covers the top part of the body but is shorter than a chemise. A camisole normally extends to the waist but is sometimes cropped to expose the midriff, or extended to cover the entire pelvic region. If you would like to see a camisole visit us Club Classique we have a lady who loves wearing them and she looks drop dead gorgeous too.

Club Classique we make the bed squeak.
